Preliminary Steps
Save a backup of the switcher configuration
1. Navigate to Home > Disk
2. On the right side, select Hard Drive and/or USB
3. On the right side, select a set to save to
4. At the bottom, press Store > All
Software Upgrade Steps
1. Navigate to Home > Setup > Installation > More > More > Recall Factory > More > More > All
2. Using a web browser, navigate to the IP address of the frame
3. Click on the logo and login using the username “user” and the password “password”
4. Click on the Upgrade tab > Click Choose File > Locate and select the frame4.tgz > Click Open
5. Enter a name in the field, such as “12.1a-0108” > Click Upgrade selected version > Click OK
6. Wait for the frame file to upload > Click Choose File > Locate and select the panel4.tgz > Click Open
7. Click on Add This File > Click OK
8. If you're asked for a second panel file, click Choose File > Locate and select the panel36.tgz > Click Open
9. Click on Add This File > Click OK
10. Click on Confirm Upgrade or Reboot Now and wait six minutes
11. Wait for the Frame CPU Board status to report “Done”
12. On the Panel touch screen or webgui, press OK to reboot the panel.
13. Repeat steps 4-12 as necessary for each software jump
11. If you get an error that PMCs are out of date, navigate to Home > Setup > More > Panel Modules > Upgrade PMCs > Confirm - wait until this is complete before proceeding
12. Navigate to Home > Disk > Select Hard Drive/USB > Select the set you want to recall - usually the one you saved at the beginning.
13. At the bottom, press Recall > All
14. Go to Home > Setup > Installation > More > More > SDPE Configuration, and ensure the right ME's are assigned to the correct Ultrix slots.
NOTE: The SDPE Configuration is saved in the switcher set, so reloading another set may mix this up. If this happens, correct the assignments again and then re-save the set to store the configuration.
