Summary
Below is a summary on how to use the Asset Manager tool to back up and restore Piero Configuration and Assets from one machine to another.
Procedure
- Open the Piero Launcher from the Desktop
- Inside the Launcher, select the Launch the Asset Manager button
- Navigate to the Back Up tab in the Asset Manager
- In the Selection Window, select everything that is to be copied over to a new machine. The bare minimum would be the Piero Config option.
- Hit the Backup Data button
- In the dialog window that appears, select an appropriate name and save location for the .pierozip file, then hit the Save button
- A progress bar will appear, along with a log showing the backup process. Once the process has finished, hit the Close button
- Copy the zip file off of the original PC, and onto the new unit. This is also an excellent time to move this backup to a secondary location, in case of hardware failure.
- Navigate back to the Back Up tab in the Asset Manager of the new PC, using Steps 1-3 of this guide
- Select the Restore Data button. A dialog window will appear.
- Navigate to the copied .pierozip backup file, and select Open
- Confirm the correct items will be restored by hitting Continue
After hitting continue, the process will complete automatically, and the restoration is complete.
