With security standards using stronger cryptographic protocols, older Windows versions may not support the newer security standards by default and the new standards may need to be manually enabled.
The XPression License Tool connects to the Ross Video Activation server (activation.rossvideo.com) via secure methods such TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2.
TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 were deprecated in 2018 therefore support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 will eventually will be disabled.
Due to older versions of Windows 7 not supporting TLS 1.2 the XPression License Tool may not work on out of date Window 7 builds.
To enable TLS 1.2 on Windows 7, Windows update package KB3140245 will need to be installed.
Once KB3140245 is installed some registry settings may need to added/enabled
