Pre-Upgrade Step:
Ensure all settings are backed up using the instructions linked here
https://support.rossvideo.com/hc/en-us/articles/36061431944219-Ultrix-Backup-Guide-v5-v6
Make sure that "Enable Upgrades & Support Access" is enabled under the Connections tab.
It can be found under: Ultrix -> System -> Configuration -> Connections. From here, you'll want to navigate to the services tab to enable the selection and then select Apply.
Upgrade Steps:
When ready to upgrade, navigate to Product Info > Upload > Browse (select the frame .bin file) > Finish > Wait for upgrade to complete. Please do not reboot yet.
- If you have any HDX boards, upload the HDX file now.
- If you have any IP boards, upload the IP file now.
- If you have any IPX boards, upload the IPX file now.
- If you have any MODX boards, upload the MODX file now (note if you have NDI or DisplayPort modules, do not update the modules yet*)
- You may now upload the frame file.
Once all files have been successfully applied, power cycle the system using the associated UltriPower unit(s) or unplugging the AC cables from the power supplies if using brick style power supplies.
Note do NOT unplug the small DC cables between power supply and Ultrix.
*Once the Ultrix has booted up, and is available again in Dashboard, you may now update the NDI or DisplayPort modules if applicable using the same steps as above.
Post Upgrade Steps:
After the upgrade, you'll want to refresh the IO. This can be found under:
Ultrix -> Database -> Configuration -> Routing Devices
Note: If your Ultriscape Multiviewers don't look correct after the upgrade, go into Ultriscape > Head Selection, switch to a different layout and then back to the original layout to "jog" it.
After the upgrade, perform standard testing to ensure everything looks good and the Ultrix is routing correctly.
