When you have an Ultrix frame normally with Ultrix Acuity or Ultrix Carbonite switcher inside of the Ultrix Frame, we recommend using the UltriClean or Clean Switch feature described in the Ultrix User Guide below starting on page 111.

This feature is used to prevent any glitching or black frames when switching between inputs that are not perfectly co-timed.
UltriClean or Clean switch works by applying up to a line buffer (delay) on a per output basis.
Because of this delay, you may then see a line drop in the signal output from the Ultrix frame which would likely present as a black line at the top of your monitor
Resolution:
The suggested resolution to avoid this line drop is to resync the output with a downstream line synchronizer card or frame sync to bring the signal back in time with the incoming reference.
